Accra, 29th to 30th September 2017: The ICGLR Levy Mwanawasa Regional Centre (LMRC), is participating in a two day High Level Policy Dialogue on “The Future of Governance in Africa: Is a new Concept of Governance the Key to Accelerating Sustainable Development Agenda. The two day High Level Policy Dialogue is organised by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in collaboration with the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) Africa Programme, from 29th to 30th September 2017, in Accra, Ghana.   

Lusaka, 6th - 7th September 2017:The ICGLR Levy Mwanawasa Regional Centre (LMRC), will host Discussion Meeting on the Implementation of Laws and Policies on Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) in Zambia, organised by the ICGLR Conference Secretariat, from 6th to 7th September 2017, in Lusaka, Zambia. The main objective of the discussion is to be able to consider impediments in the implementation of policies and judicial practices governing the suppression of Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) in Zambia.

Nairobi, 5th  - 6th  July 2017: The Levy Mwanawasa Regional Centre (LMRC), will be participating in the Regional Experts and Stakeholders Consultations on the Illegal Exploitation and Trade in Natural Resources: Strengthening the Implementation of the ICGLR Regional Initiative on Natural Resources and Good Governance for Sustainable Peace, Development and Transformation of the Great Lakes Region (GLR), organised by the ICGLR Conference Secretariat in partnership with the Office of the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General for the Great Lakes Region (O/SESG-GL), from 5th  - 6th  July 2017, in Nairobi, Kenya. The LMRC will share the lessons learned and recommendations from a study carried out on the “Status of implementation of the Extractive Initiative on Natural Resources (EITI) in ICGLR Member States”. Annotated Agenda

Livingstone, 7th – 9th June 2017: ICGLR Levy Mwanawasa Regional Centre (LMRC), is participating in the ICGLR-O/SESG Meeting of Ministers in charge of Youth Affairs, from 7th – 9th June 2017, in Livingstone, Zambia. The objective of the meeting is to review progress made since the July 2014 Special Summit on fighting Youth Unemployment, share best practices, discuss strategic options to address challenges faced, and adopt measures to accelerate implementation of commitments and resolutions contained in the Special Summit Declaration.

Lusaka, 16th May 2017: The Chairperson of the ICGLR Regional Civil Society Forum (RCSF), will visit the Levy Mwanawasa Regional Centre (LMRC) on 16th May 2017. The objective of the visit is to get an update from the Regional Center on the situation in the ICGLR generally. 

Nairobi, 24th   April to 5th May 2017:   ICGLR Levy Mwanawasa Regional Centre (LMRC), is participating in the Elections Observers (EO) Course, organised by International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC), Kenya in corroboration with the Government of the United Kingdom, from 24th   April to 5th May 2017, in Karen, Nairobi, Kenya.  The objective of the course is to deepen theoretical and practical expertise on election observation founded on free, fair and credible elections as a key component of good governance in Peace Security Operation (PSO) and other fragile societies.

Bujumbura, 24th - 29th April 2017: The Levy Mwanawasa Regional Centre (LMRC) is participating in the Great Lakes Region ‘Displaced Persons and Boarder Communities Project’, Technical Mission, organised by the ICGLR Conference Secretariat in partnership with the World Bank, from 24th to 29th April 2017, in Bujumbura, Burundi. The main objective of the mission is to support the Project Coordination Unit (PCU) within ICGLR to develop the project Implementation Manual, which is a condition for project effectiveness.

Harare, 3rd - 4th April 2017: The Levy Mwanawasa Regional Centre (LMRC) is participating in the Conference of States Parties to the African Union Convention for the Protection and Assistance of Internally Displaced Persons   in Africa, organised by the Commission of the African Union, from 3rd to 4th April 2017, in Harare, Zimbabwe. The main objective of conference is to formally constitute the Conference of State Parties, as a mechanism for fostering cooperation and solidarity among States Parties in the implementation of the Convention.

Nairobi, 9th- 10th February 2017: The Levy Mwanawasa Regional Centre (LMRC) is participating in the Sixteenth Meeting of the Technical Support Committee of the Regional Oversight Mechanism of the Peace, Security and Cooperation Framework for the DRC and the Region, from 9th to 10th February 2017, in Nairobi, Kenya.

Bujumbura, 13th – 15th February 2017:  The Levy Mwanawasa Regional Centre (LMRC) is participating in the 2017 ICGLR Annual Planning Workshop, organised by the Conference Secretariat from 13th to 15th February 2017, in Bujumbura, Burundi.

Khartoum, 6th – 8th December 2016:   International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) Levy Mwanawasa Regional Centre (LMRC), is participating in the Seventh Ordinary Session of the Plenary Assembly of the ICGLR Forum of Parliaments, in Khartoum, Republic of Sudan.  Mr. Pamphile Sebahara, the Head of Research, Training and Documentation Department at ICGLR LMRC will present findings and recommendations from the assessment on the implementation of the ICGLR Pact on Security, Stability and Development in the Great Lakes Region during the last 10 years.

Nairobi, 21st November to 2nd December 2016:   ICGLR Levy Mwanawasa Regional Centre (LMRC), is participating in the Protection of Civilian (POC) Course, organised by International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC) in partnership with the Eastern Africa Standby Force Coordination Mechanism (EASFCOM), from 21st November to 2nd December 2016 in Karen, Nairobi, Kenya.  The purpose of the course is to provide knowledge and expertise on protection of civilians in Africa through an understanding and explanation of the various national, regional and international legal and institutional frameworks for protecting civilians from adverse effects of conflicts. 

Lusaka, 7th - 9th November 2016: ICGLR Levy Mwanawasa Regional Centre (LMRC), is participating in the Retreat of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union on Practical Steps to Silence the Guns in Africa by the Year 2020, organised by the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU), from 7th   to 9th November 2016, in Lusaka, Zambia.  The objective of this Retreat is for the PSC to develop a Master Roadmap with an Implementation Matrix and a Monitoring and Evaluating Mechanism, for silencing the guns in Africa by 2020.

Dar es Salaam, 31st October to 1st  November, and 2nd to 3rd November 2016:   ICGLR Levy Mwanawasa Regional Centre (LMRC) is participating in the statutory meetings of the ICGLR Forum of Parliaments’ Committees on Peace and Security, and on Democracy and Good Governance respectively, in Dar es Salaam, United Republic of Tanzania.  Mr. Pamphile Sebahara, the Head of Research, Training and Documentation Department at ICGLR LMRC will present the preliminary findings and recommendations from the assessment on the implementation of the ICGLR Pact on Security, Stability and Development in the Great Lakes Region during the last 10 years.

Luanda, 26th October 2016. The 7th High-Level Meeting of the Regional Oversight Mechanism (ROM) for the Peace, Security and Cooperation (PSC) Framework for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Region is meeting in Luanda, Angola. The objective of the meeting of the Heads of States and Government is to assess the implementation of DRC, regional and international commitments of the PSC Framework and identify options to address ongoing conflicts and political crises in the DRC and the Region (Burundi, South Sudan). The ICGLR and SADC are guarantors to the PSC Framework which is co-presided by the UN and the AU.

Addis Ababa, 4th October 2016: ICGLR-LMRC attends a consultation meeting on Conflict prevention and peace building in the Great Lakes Region, organised by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Abuja, 25th - 26th May 2016: International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA), in partnership with the Nigeria Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the ECOWAS and the African Union Commission are organising a Regional Dialogue on Emerging Trends & Challenges of Electoral Democracy in Africa in 2016, Abuja, Nigeria. Draft Agenda and Programme.

Paris, 10th – 12th May 2016: The International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the United Nations Group Experts on the DRC (UN GoE) are organising  a 10th ICGLR –OECD-UN GOE Forum on Responsible Mineral Supply Chains, in Paris,  France.
